Meet Hilary
I’m honored to serve as an Ela Township Committeeperson. Now, I’m ready to do more.
I want to be the change we need to ensure that everyone can have a successful future in Lake County.
Since my son was young, I’ve wanted to do something for his future here in Lake County. I want to help shape policy that will impact us and future generations. I want to leave a clean and livable environment. Serving on the Lake County Board is going to give me that chance. For my son, for my family, for my neighbors, and for all of the people I represent in Lake County.
Ready to Connect & Listen
I am passionate about hearing from the people of Lake County: about what matters to you, about what you need, and about how you feel. I want to listen to what’s most important to you and take action on the Lake County Board. I’m passionate about how we live here in Lake County and what we will be leaving for our children, their children, and all the generations to come. I am devoted to representing the people of Lake County in a way that preserves the very best quality of life. I’ll work to earn your support and hope you’ll feel free to contact me anytime.
A Lifelong Commitment to Lake County
I grew up in Lake County and have lived in Hawthorn Woods since 1998. My husband, Jeff, and I have been proud to raise our son here, and I’ve been an active member of the community and District 95 school district for many years. As the Vice President of the Spencer Loomis PTO and a member of the Lake Zurich Middle School North PTO, I chaired community events, directed five student Variety Shows, and managed several student programs. As an officer in the Lake Zurich High School Band Boosters. I hosted fundraisers and events. And, as an LZHS Parents in Theatre (PIT Crew) parent, I helped bring the only Illinois production of Frozen to life on stage. I’ve chaired fundraisers for CASA of Lake County and have supported the candidacy of many of our Illinois Democrats.
A Lifelong Communicator
A lifelong Illinoisan, I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Communications and Broadcast Journalism. My parents were key in my success in college; I also chose to work as a Resident Assistant, in student housing government, retail, and the local Oldies radio station to help support myself through college. After graduation I worked for the ABC News affiliate in Peoria, Illinois, then the Journal & Topics newspapers as a school board and city council meetings reporter while also covering local interest stories. I then began a 29-year career for a large business services company as a writer and communicator. I’m also very proud of my freelance writing work, including being a major contributor to the Rose Parade program.
